Pastor Sonny and Sharon Shimaoka Interim Pastor
Pastor Sonny Shimaoka is an ordained minister with the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. He has over 43 years of Pastoral ministry as a senior pastor, associate pastor, and currently as the interim pastor at New Hope Waimea.
He and his wife Sharon, a retired Waimea elementary school teacher have been married for 53 years. They have 4 children, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
They live in Waimea and have a 5 acre farm in Puukapu, where they grow various fruits and vegetables in greenhouses. Pastor Sonny boasts that he grows the sweetest grape tomatoes in the world!
Youth Pastor Jeff Klohns and family
Jeff and Brenda Klohs have 2 daughters, Nora & McKenzie. They moved here 3 years into their marriage from Dundee, Oregon, in late summer of 2006. They have been married for 20 years. Both Jeff and Brenda have been serving in the Youth Ministry for 15+ years.
Jeff is a licensed Foursquare pastor and was ordained in 2023.
Brenda also sings on the Worship Team on Sunday mornings. Another place you will see Jeff is serving as an Usher/Greeter. In addition, Jeff and daughter Nora, both assist in the Broadcast room.
